An internationally recognised best-selling author and investor, Baybars Altuntas is Chairman of the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF), Vice President of the European Trade Association for Business Angels (EBAN) and President of the Business Angels Association of Turkey (TBAA). He is also star of the Turkish version of the hit TV show Dragons’ Den and is profiled regularly by leading media outlets such as CNN and Bloomberg.
Baybars’ work on entrepreneurship theory earned him a personal audience with former US President Barack Obama at the Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship in Washington, DC. Along with his Start-up Compass Theory he is co-author of ‘Planet Entrepreneur: The World Entrepreneurship Forum's Guide to Business Success Around the World’ and author of ‘Off the Bus, Into a Supercar! How I Became a Top TV Star and Celebrated Investor’.
Baybars serves as senior advisor to the London Stock Exchange, an advisor to the South-East Europe Research Council, the World Entrepreneurship Forum Ambassador to Turkey and the Balkan countries and a JCI ambassador following Ban Ki-Moon, former Secretary General of the United Nations. He has founded various companies and is currently President of Deulcom International.
Ahmed El Alfi
Chairman, Sawari Ventures, Flat6labs, The Greek Campus
Named one of the most creative people in the world by Fast Company, Ahmed El Alfi has been an early stage/growth investor for almost 30 years. He founded Hybrid Capital Partners in 1990, a private investment partnership which funded, helped grow and exited several successful companies. In 2010 he founded Sawari Ventures, a Cairo based Venture Capital firm which provides funding to high growth technology based companies in an effort to transform economies in the MENA region. In 2011 Sawari Ventures created Flat6Labs which has grown to become MENA's leading startup accelerator, with ongoing or soon to launch programs in Cairo, Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, Tunis, Bahrain and Beirut. The organization has established and funded more than 100 companies to date.
Alongside Sawari Ventures and Flat6Labs Ahmed El Alfi founded Nafham and TATP. Nafham is the top Arabic online video educational platform covering the Egyptian, Saudi, Syrian, Kuwaiti and Algerian public school curriculums and has given over 65 million free lessons to over 500,000 students. Through TATP he formed the 25,000 square meter Cairo based GrEEK Campus office park where over 130 startups now work and collaborate. His US portfolio includes Triporati, an online travel company; Pacific Toxicology, a drug testing laboratory and Zignal Labs a big data analysis company.

Saeid Binzagr joined his family business 20 years ago and now sits on the boards of various public and private organisations. He is Chairman of Binzagr Unilever Limited, Binzagr Barwil Marine Transport Company and Avon Beauty Arabia Company; Managing Director and Chairman of Beit Binzagr and Binzagr Co-Ro Company; Co-President of Binzagr Factory for Insulation Materials; Deputy President of Abdullah & Said M. O. Binzagr Company.; Board Member of Binzagr Company and Founder of Binzagr Institute for Sustainable Prosperity and Diyar Al-Khayyal.
Away from his family holdings Saeid Binzagr is Vice Chairman of Alkhabeer Capital where he also chairs the Investment Committee and was a director and founding member of Mobily from 2004-2010. In the public sector he sits on the boards of the Saudi Industrial Property Authority ‘MODON’, Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Council for Saudi Chambers of Commerce & Industry.
Jamal Al Akkad

Jamal Abdulrahman Al Akkad is a serial entrepreneur with almost 30 years of experience in various fields. He has established ventures in education, logistics and ICT and has worked in the oil and gas industry focusing on finance, contracting and management information systems. His overall experience encompasses project management, entrepreneurship ecosystem development, investments in SMEs, training, mentorship and MBA program lecturing. In 2008 he was selected as a founding team member of the Saudi Aramco Entrepreneurship Center (Wa’ed) where he still serves as a consultant. Jamal recently founded Dubai based Enable Ventures C3 which seeks to support early stages businesses through various initiatives including giving them a foothold in international markets.
Jamal received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in 1987 and a Master's degree in Business Administration in 2008 from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom. Currently, Jamal is perusing a doctorate from Durham University in the United Kingdom.

Philipp Steinberger started his career as an equity sales trader with Swiss investment banks Julius Baer and Vontobel before in 2003 founding Steinberger Consulting, a Zurich based corporate finance advisory with a focus on start-up financing. He has overseen numerous M&A deals, private equity placements and start-up capital raisings and in the process built up an investor network across Europe and Asia.
In 2010 Philipp co-founded C-crowd AG, Switzerland’s first crowd investing platform which is now operational in Switzerland, France, Luxembourg and Belgium. Philipp recently launched Fintec360 AG, an online platform to coordinate shareholder administration and investor relations between SMEs, professional and angel investors. He sits on the board of ISP group, a private Swiss wealth management company. Philipp holds a Master of Business Administration from Business School Lausanne, Switzerland.
Mark is a serial IT entrepreneur and cyber security expert with over 20 years experience in the IT sector in the UK, USA and internationally during which time he has established six profitable companies and held senior director roles in large corporations. After receiving his training in Mergers and Acquisitions from Goldman Sachs New York Mark was responsible for more than $200m of successful acquisitions on behalf of his employer NEON, as US based Nasdaq listed software company, which contributed to a significant rise in valuation.
Mark holds a BA in Economics and started his career in development before moving into Project Management and designing a highly complex ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solution.
Nabil is the Chief Investment Officer at Al Sulaiman Group in Saudi Arabia. His expertise encompass investments, finance and strategy with multi-sector experience across the GCC and Middle East. Prior to his current role Nabil was CFO for KADDB Investment Group in Jordan where he set up and managed the investment and finance departments at the holding. Before that, he worked at renowned international and regional companies including Gulf International Bank / GIB Capital, Hikma Pharmaceuticals, Merrill Lynch, and Fidus Groupe Societe Generale. He is also a mentor at Endeavor and Flat6Labs.
Nabil holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Bachelors of Business Administration with Distinction from the American University of Beirut.
Nick is a former equities trader at London based Winterflood Securities. During his 9 years with the firm he covered a range of international markets and products, specialising in North American securities for the latter 5 years. Following his trading career Nick moved into the Islamic finance industry to work on product development, before founding LeadAngels as a wholly Sharia compliant mechanism for private company financing.
Tuba is CEO of Waqf Iqra and Co-founder of Qotuf Alriyadah Development company, the first Private Entrepreneurship Foundation in Saudi Arabia. She also established Flat6Labs Jeddah, the first Accelerator in the country and is the Saudi host for Global Entrepreneurship Week. Prior to this Tuba founded the first female-managed healthcare consultancy in the region receiving an award from the National Arab US Chamber of Commerce, and has held managerial positions with NCB bank and Procter & Gamble.
Tuba holds an MBA from the University of Liverpool and a CAPM from Stanford University. She currently serves on the boards of 12 companies in Saudi Arabia and various other organisations internationally.
